Tube and handrails joining made easy
Components to elegantly connect railings and corner joins
We offer joining mechanisms for our tubing, which enable you to connect tubes at corners with a smooth, seamless finish.
Our custom-made joiners allow you to produce handrail and balustrades with greater ease. We offer two systems for joining -- cast stainless steel joiners, and mechanical joiners where onsite welding is not an option.
Sometimes referred to as ‘elbow joiners’, our cast stainless steel components mean that you no longer have to cut the tubing at angles and weld them together to achieve tight joins – our joiners make this laborious process redundant. Because there is more material at the join, this also helps to make the joint stronger than tubing that has only been cut and welded together.
Some cast joiners are made for tubing that bends on an A-plane – these joiners are suitable for vertical bends, such as those you might see on a staircase. Alternatively, our B-plane cast joiners are suitable for joining horizontal tubes, such as those used on balconies and handrails. When you use these joiners as a handrail, oval tubing can be dry-joined when welding is not an option. Alternatively, these joiners can be welded then polished so that you won’t notice the joins at all. We offer straight cast joiners -- cast stainless steel components which are suitable for applications that require a significant length of tubing such as handrail in a large shopping centre.
These joiners make the process of connecting tube lengths easier while at the same time providing an aesthetically pleasing finish. This process also adds more strength as it is more solid than a weld on its own.
We have also developed a unique system of custom-made mechanical joiners, which we can fabricate at Timeless for profiles of all sizes and shapes. These provide great flexibility, and are ideal for situations when welding onsite is not an option. Please speak to us about your requirements and we can discuss options available.
Timeless Tube can also offer a welding and polishing service, should you require us to join your railings or tube application.
Some of our clients require stainless steel end caps for furniture and hand railings; these components can be welded to the tubing to create an attractive finish. We supply three different types of end cap:
- Shallow-dome end caps. These have an attractive gentle curve, which removes any potentially dangerous sharp edges.
- Rounded-edge end caps. These are slightly smaller than the tube itself so there is room for the weld. Please ask us about this process so we can help supply the correct size.
- Straight-sided end caps.
If you do not see an end cap in a size you require in the table below, we can custom-make end caps for you. If you require your end caps to be welded to your railings / tube, our welding specialists can also do this here at Timeless Tube. Find out more about our fabrication services.
All the end caps that we stock are made from stainless steel (316L). Please ask if you require end caps from another material.
All of the cast joiners that we stock are stainless steel joiners made from 316L stainless steel, which is a highly durable marine-grade. This means that they are suitable for joining boat handrails and other marine and external railings, where an anti-corrosive metal is needed. However, we can supply our joiners in all the metals that we work with here at Timeless Tube.
Suitable for oval, twisted oval and D-shaped tube
Our existing cast joiners are only suitable for oval and twisted oval tubing, and for just a couple of sizes of our D-shaped tube (handrail). However, if you have a job that requires joiners for other shaped tubing please talk to us – we may be able to create new cast joiners or mechanical joiners that work for your chosen tubing design.
